April 12th, 2010 Newsletter

Hello Everyone! We hope everyone had a great Easter break! As our Session winds to a close there is a lot going on and and lot of information to get out to everyone. We regret to inform everyone that we will not be running a Spring Dive session during May and June this year. Our last week of diving will be the week of April 19th - 23rd.

Bingo Update

We stll have a number of bingos that we are required to work as a club. Christie has been having a hard time finding people to fill our spots and it would be greatly appreciated if people could check the website for upcoming bingos and contact Christie to let her know which ones you can work (as opposed to her having to call everyone everytime we have a bingo), We have bingos on the following days:

• April 12th - 5:00 pm
• May 8th - 11:00 am
• May 19th - 5:00 pm
• June 12th - 11:00 am
• July 4th - 11:00 am
• July 27th - 5:00 pm

Fun Meet

To finish off the season we have invited Cranbrook dive club to join us for a Fun Meet on April 24th. You may have noticed that your child/children have been talking about their dives for the meet and they will be working on them during the remaining nights in preparation for the meet. Divers are asked to be on deck at 1:00 and we will be getting them in the water at 1:30. There wlll be ribbons for each category and pizza and drinks to follow the meet. We hope to see everyone there for a fun competition. For those interested, the Calgary Dive club will be using our facility from 10:30 - 1:30, so come early and watch their divers in action! If your child is interested in coming early and diving with the Calgary club, please speak to the coaches and let them know.

Board Positions

We would like to thank this year's board members for the hard work and perserverance that they have shown this past season. Doug Mareska has done an awesome job helping us out as the Treasurer, but has indicated that he would like to step down. Please contact Jeff Meadows if you are interested in getting involved with our Board for next season. We are also hoping to have a number of committee positions for next season that parents can get involved with:

• Newsletter Editor
• Marketing
• Fun Meet Organizer
• Clothing
• Funding/Grants

Fall Diving

We are starting to plan for the Fall session of diving and it would be great if you could let us know if your child/children will be returning in the Fall. If you could contact Denise Paton with a quick message letting us know, we would appreciate it.

Coaches Corner:

All of the coaches are looking forward to the Fun Meet so that the divers can show what they have learned over the past session.
