March 3rd, 2010 Newsletter

Hello Everyone! We hope everyone had a great reading break! Many exciting things are happening for us this session, but before we go over that we would like to take this opportunity to say good bye to a wonderful young lady that has been delighting our youth with her contagious smile….Kelsey Driscoll! Thank you so much for your hard work as an assistant coach and we will miss you while you’re gone but look forward to your return in the fall! At this point we would also like to acknowledge a new face on deck, Josh! Josh will be assisting the coaches over the next few weeks and possibly coaching a summer camp this year. Josh has competitive diving experience and we look forward to his contribution to our divers’ learning experience!

Bingo Update

Another introduction is to be made; Christie Archer has courageously taken on the role of Bingo Coordinator! Thank you so much Christie, we look forward to be recruited by you for all the Bingo Days!! And again, thank you to all the parents who were able to make it out to all the Bingos, and just a reminder our next bingo is on March 7^th at 11:00 am. We really appreciate your help!

One of the main focal points this session for our club is team moral. It is felt that if the divers feel a connection to each other as well as the club it will make for a positive experience for everyone. Several suggestions have been made in how to accomplish this, and as a result swimsuits will be available to purchase Monday March 8^th, 2010. Learn to Dive swimsuits are $28.00 and Pre-Competitive swimsuits are $55.00. Orders can be placed with Danielle Clearwater, and suits are available to try on for size fittings on deck. The Club is also hosting a Fun Night for divers and their families. It will be hosted on March 11, 2010 at 6pm until 8pm, we look forward to seeing you there! Food and beverages will be provided! Chris Yauck has also been tentatively booked for that night to take a team picture accompanied by individual pictures, we will inform parents of the cost upon definite confirmation.

This session, as a change of pace, we are offering one free lesson of diving to the community to replace Bring a Friend. If you have a friend, please feel free to bring them but we want the opportunity to open it up the community as well! Look for the newsletter in your school!

Danielle has been looking into a Tier 2 Meet in Edmonton, possible dates are March 27^th and June 20^th. We will provide more information as we get it! Thanks Danielle for the extra work you have been doing, it is appreciated!!

Lethbridge Dive Club will be hosting the Fun Meet at the end of this session. It will be Saturday, April 24th at 10:30 am ending at 1:30pm. We will be doing this fun meet conjointly with the Cranbrook Dive Club. We ask that divers be ready and on deck by no later then 10:00 am. Food and beverages will be provided. Please bring your friends and families to come and watch our children show us how much they have learned this session! It will be great fun!

We are also excited to announce that the Lethbridge Diving Club will be providing a May/June session! Please contact Marie, Jeff, or Dennise for details!

Coaches Corner:

The coaches would like to let the parents know that you’re children are working hard and mastering the techniques being taught to them! Danielle and Kendra are very proud to be coaching our children and are continuously amazed at the progress they make! Keep up the great work guys!!
