Welcome to the Lethbridge Diving Club

diverAre you or your children interested in learning how to dive? We offer a variety of diving programs ranging from our beginner learn to dive program to a pre-competitive program for those individuals who have dive experience and would like to work towards competitions. Let our certified instructors show you how much fun diving can be. We have had divers ranging in age from 5 to 65 years, so you are never too young or too old to experience diving.

It's not too late to come out and learn to dive!

Club Sign Up: Registration Page (will open an external link.  All divers should complete this registration)

Additional H2O registration link: Registration Portal. (NEW divers ONLY!  Returning divers will have completed this.)

Some brief information.  The portal will register you with the club as well as link your Dive Alberta and Dive Canada affiliations.  A fee will be due at the end of the registration process.  This is NOT our club fee.  This fee will consist of your association and insurance fees for the YEAR.  This is paid once for the period of Sept (2023) - Aug (2024).  An enhancement is coming that will set up specific events (Fall Classes, Winter Classes, Spring Classes) as well as the option to pay all fees online.  For now please just email us letting us know what program you would like to sign up for and what night you would like.  We will accept club fees for your program by etransfer to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or via cheque or cash on the first night.

Our Fall classes for the 2023 season are now available for registration!  Information on times / fees / fundraising is posted to our Programs page.  You will need to email to let us know which you would like to sign up for.

How can we offer this program at a reasonable cost? We offset the cost of the program through fund-raising by working bingos and casinos. As part of registration, new families are requested to sign up to volunteer at event(s).  All bookings are being completed by emailing our club email address. Please find contact information on our Contacts page.

In order to better understand what the coaches are working on with your child/children, we have provided a series of resources that we hope will help explain the sport of diving and some of the movements that are important.

The following document has been prepared by Diving Plongeon Canada (www.diving.ca) and provides a good overview of the following topics:

  • History of Diving
  • Diving Points System
  • What to Watch For
  • Positions & Types of Dives
  • Specifics of Competitive Diving
  • Terminology

One of the skills that you will see the coaches and divers working on often is the Hurdle. To better understand the mechanics of the Hurdle and it's importance to a diver, we have included a video clip of Dr. Jeff Huber (U.S. Olympic Diving coach in 2000 & 2004) discussing the Hurdle.

Here is another video with Dr. Jeff Huber talking about the importance of form in a tuck or pick dive.

In this video, Dr. Jeff Huber talks about the importance of the entry.
